No. Lumi is a full K–5 curriculum. Math is one of four core subjects alongside Reading & ELA, Science, and Social Studies. Kids rotate through all subjects during a school day session.

Math anxiety often comes from drilling problems without understanding. Lumi always explains the concept first, uses visual emoji representations, and lets kids answer verbally rather than on a timer. Many parents report their child's math attitude improving within the first few weeks.

For number answers, kids say the number aloud ('forty-two', 'three-fourths', etc.). The voice recognition system accepts multiple forms of the correct answer — 'three quarters' and 'three-fourths' both pass for ¾.

Yes. Multiplication facts are drilled through spaced repetition with character-led practice rounds. The app tracks which facts are solid and which need more work, cycling back to weak facts in future sessions.

Lumi covers Pre-K through Grade 5 math. Content is aligned to Common Core standards for each grade level and adjusts automatically based on the child's profile age and performance data.
