Reading Eggs is a focused early-literacy app for ages 2–13 — Lumi is a full Pre-K–12 curriculum covering reading plus 15+ other subjects.
💡 Reading Eggs is excellent and highly focused on phonics and early reading. If reading is your only concern, it's a strong pick. But most homeschool families need math, science, social studies, and more — which is where Lumi's full curriculum takes over.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Lumi teach phonics as well as Reading Eggs?
Yes. Lumi includes a full phonics and early-reading track built into its Reading & ELA subject, covering letter sounds, blending, sight words, and comprehension — alongside math, science, social studies, and 12+ other subjects.
Can I use Reading Eggs and Lumi together?
Some families do, using Reading Eggs as extra reading practice alongside Lumi as their main curriculum. But most families find Lumi's built-in reading program is enough on its own, without paying for a second subscription.
Is Lumi better value than Reading Eggs for a full curriculum?
Yes. Reading Eggs only covers reading, so a family needing full-subject coverage would need to add separate programs for math, science, and more. Lumi's flat price already includes all of it.
