Maine Homeschool Overview
Maine's homeschool statute (20-A M.R.S.A. § 5001-A) requires families to notify their local school board annually, provide instruction in required subjects for at least 175 days, and demonstrate annual progress through an assessment. Maine accepts multiple assessment methods giving families flexibility in how they document progress.
